WSCF solidarity plan on Identity, Diversity and Dialogue

In December 2009 students and WSCF leaders met in Thailand to discuss the Federation's 2009 theme "Identity, Diversity and Dialogue". Participants in the programme wrote a solidarity plan on the theme for action within WSCF.

General Secretary announces his resignation.

WSCF’s General Secretary Rev. Michael Wallace has announced that he will stand down in May this year. Mr. Wallace (39) was elected by WSCF’s 33rd General Assembly in 2004 and re-elected at the 34th General Assembly in 2008.

SCM Philippines working in relief effort
1 October 2009
SCM Philippines is spear-heading a relief drive by young people. The Filipino people are attempting to recover after 33.4 cm (12 inches) of rain fell in just 16 hours on Saturday September 26. The rains, caused by tropical storm Ketsana (Typhoon Ondoy) have killed over 250 people and displaced at least 500,000. SCM Philippines is mobilizing young people and senior friends in response to the devastation of the storm. WSCF has already granted SCM Philippines an emergency Ecumenical Assistance Program (EAP) grant of US $3,000. SCM Philippines is seeking further donations for their emergency response work.

SCM Pakistan condemns inaction on anti-Christian violence

WSCF representative selected to attend the 10th University on Youth and Development in Molina, Spain

WSCF is proud to announce that SCMer Ruth-Aimee Ngotty Essebe (Cameroon) has been selected to participate in the 10th University on Youth and Development in Molina, Spain on the theme of Climate Change. The meeting will bring together over 300 youth in Molina, Spain from 17th – 20th, September at the Centro Eurolatinoamericano de Juventud.

Iraqi Christians Targets of Violence

SCM Zimbabwe condemns behavior of ZANU PF

The Student Christian Movement of Zimbabwe (SCMZ) condemns the behaviour of ZANU PF hired youth at the prematurely ended First Constitutional All Stakeholders Conference, pencilled for the 13th of July 2009. It is highly deplorable and unacceptable that some purportedly ZANU PF youth led by the party President`s nephew, Patrick Zhuwawo, would jeopardise the future of many Zimbabweans by disrupting the Constitutional Reform process.
