Middle East students decry the region’s "crisis in ecumenism"

WSCF makes call to prayer for DR Congo

The World Student Christian Federation Africa Region has urged all national SCMs to offer prayer and intercession in favour of the populations of North Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The call to prayer issued today names the headlong rush to exploit the mineral resources of North Kivu as the primary cause of the ongoing atrocities being inflicted on the populations of the region.

SCM calls for major shifts in Australian defence spending

Australian SCM has made a submission to the Australian Department of Defence's 'White Paper' consultation process, which will help guide Australia's defence policy over the next five to ten years. The submission specifically emphasises the importance of a new focus on peace-keeping activities, reducing large scale armaments purchases and taking into serious consideration the Australian defence forces' responsibility to help prevent illegal actions by foreign militaries against their citizenry.
